Privacy Policy

Draft — bracketed details are finalized before public launch.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use illushray.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. We are the data controller for that information.

Who we are

illushray.com is operated by [Legal Entity Name], LLC ("Illushray", "we", "us"), a Texas limited liability company. You can reach us at hello@illushray.com, or by mail at [registered-agent mailing address], Texas. For privacy requests, put "Privacy" in the subject line.

What we collect and why

  • Email address — only when you sign up for chapter-drop alerts. We use it solely to email you about Godform. Legal basis: your consent (you can unsubscribe from any email). Stored with our email provider, Resend.
  • Reading progress — the page and chapter you've reached, so you can resume. Stored in cookies in your browser; if you create an account, also synced to our database (Supabase) to resume across devices. Legal basis: necessary to provide the reader, and your consent when you create an account.
  • Purchase records — if you buy a Founder or Patron pass, we receive your email and the tier you bought from our payment provider. Legal basis: performing our contract with you and meeting tax/accounting obligations. We never see or store your card number.
  • Technical logs — like every website, our host records standard request data (IP address, browser type, pages requested) to operate and secure the site. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a safe, working site.

We do not sell or share your personal information, run third-party advertising, or build advertising profiles. For basic visitor statistics we use PostHog, configured to run cookieless and aggregate — it does not set cookies or local storage, track you across sites, or build a profile of you, so no consent banner is required.

Cookies and local storage

We use only a few strictly necessary / functional cookies and browser-storage entries — no advertising or cross-site tracking — so no cookie-consent banner is required for what we currently set:

  • gf-last-…, gf-eps-…, gf-lastpg-… — remember your reading progress; expire after about 180 days.
  • gf-age-ok — remembers that you confirmed the maturity advisory, so we don't ask again.
  • gf_auth — a temporary access cookie used only while the site is in private pre-launch.
  • a localStorage entry (gf:read:…) — a fallback copy of your last page when cookies are unavailable.

You can clear these any time in your browser settings. Our analytics use no cookies; if we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will add a consent banner at that time.

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers ("processors") that help us run the site, each under a contract limiting them to our instructions:

  • Resend — sends our email alerts.
  • Lemon Squeezy — processes payments as Merchant of Record (it handles your card data and sales tax; we never receive card details).
  • Supabase — stores optional account data and cross-device reading progress.
  • Railway — hosts the site and processes standard server logs.
  • PostHog — provides cookieless, aggregate website analytics (visit counts, referrers, and how far through the comic readers get; no cross-site tracking).

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

International data transfers

Our providers are based in the United States, so if you use the site from elsewhere your information is transferred to and processed in the US. For visitors in the EU, UK, and similar regions, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and/or our providers' certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as the transfer safeguard.

How long we keep it

  • Email address — until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Reading-progress cookies — about 180 days, then they expire; account-synced progress lasts until you delete your account.
  • Purchase records — as long as needed to honor your pass and meet tax/accounting obligations (generally up to 7 years).
  • Technical logs — a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, export (port), or object to our use of your personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising a right.

To make a request, email hello@illushray.com; we respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK and believe we have mishandled your data, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.

Children

Godform is intended for mature audiences (17+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in the EU/UK). If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes appear here with a new "last updated" date; if a change affects pass holders, we'll email you.
